Rev. Alicia Bailey


Rev. Alicia Bailey, currently serves on the Ministerial staff of Bridge Street A.W.M.E. Church since January 6, 2003.  Although she has been attending Bridge Street since she was nine years old, she has been a member for approx. 27 years.  In 2004, she was appointed as the Minister to Youth.  In addition, in April 2006, she was ordained as an Itinerant Deacon in the African Methodist Episcopal Church

 

Since her appointment to Minister to Youth, Alicia has coordinated many Youth Explosions Services, Youth Emphasis Services, YouthFest Conferences, Back to School events, as well as many monthly rap sessions and special events/worship services with the young people.  Alicia has coordinated joint worship services with other AME Churches and other churches in the New York City area.   In addition, she was the visionary behind the weekly “Youth on the Move” newsletter.

 

She holds a Bachelor degree in Business administration from Pace University, Certificate in Christian Ministry from New York Theological Seminary and she has completed her requirements at the African Methodist Episcopal Institute.  Presently, she is enrolled in the Master of Divinity program at New York Theological Seminary, where she is scheduled to graduate in May 2009.  In addition, she is candidate to receive her Itinerant Elder orders.

 

She worked for the MTA New York City Transit for almost 13 years in the Benefits Department –Human Resources.  In 2003, she accepted a Benefits Manager position at NYU Medical Center, where she supervises a staff of thirteen people..

 

She is the daughter of Veronica Morris and Clayton Nesmith. She has one sister, Tahitia and one brother, Eric.   She is married to Randall Bailey.  They have one daughter, Adrianna Alicia Bailey.

 

Rev.  Alicia has been the recipient of many awards and she has held many leadership offices in her church.  However, with all her many accomplishments in her life, her goal is to get into Heaven.  She loves the Lord and knows that God has not yet unfolded all His plans for her life.
